Cozy unicorn

La Puce managed to misplace her owl poncho. Here's a new one, made of whatever "leftover" fabrics I have (leftover fabrics being rather large pieces sometime). Added a scottish flair with the Unicorn (national symbol) and strips of tartan from a jacket I made last year.

La Puce a réussi a perdre son poncho à chouette. En voici un nouveau, bricole avec des "restes" de tissus (par restes, c'est parfois de bons métrages...). J'y ai incorporé un petit air écossais avec la licorne, emblème nationale, et des bouts de tartans, récupérés d'une veste terminée l'an dernier.

Goat and Sheep, a pouch

A very crafty person, Ellen Baileybrown, made this cute little zipped pouch out of my goat and sheep fabric, for sale at Spoonflower. It's so touching to see other people create something with a little bit of your art on it... Well done Ellen.

Et oui, toutes mes soumissions pour la mode garçon Printemps 2013 ont été acceptées (5 en tout). La semaine dernière, j'ai laissé filer et n'ai pas eu beaucoup de votes pour mes pantalons et shorts, mais j'espère me rattraper un peu cette semaine avec 2 pulls. Radis ... Radishes

Je viens de recevoir les échantillons de tissus imprimés avec mes dessins de radis. C'était à l'origine pour un concours (le leggings va probablement être produit), mais le tissu est tellement chouette que je vais en faire quelques autres trucs. D'ailleurs le Petit Loup et la Puce ont déjà passé commande, un pantacourt pour l'un, et une robe pour l'autre...

 


I just received the samples from my latest prints, based on the design of radishes. I did it initially for a contest (the leggings will most likely be produced), but I like the fabric so much that I will probably do a few other things. The Petit Loup and la Puce already requested a pair of cropped pants, and a dress...

Il y a quelques semaines, j'ai soumis 8 dessins de vêtements pour enfants à une startup qui, sous forme de concours, fait produire et met sur le marché les modèles qui ont le plus de succès. Sur les 8 dessins, 4 ont été retenus, et maintenant, c'est le moment de voter. Cette semaine, vous pouvez voter pour les bas (leggings, shorts, jupes), jusqu'au 28 août. Les tops devraient arriver la semaine prochaine.

A few weeks ago, I submitted 8 designs of children clothing to a startup which, through contests, produces and sells the most successful submissions. Out of the 8 designs, 4 got selected, and now it's time to vote. This week, you can vote for bottoms (leggings, shorts, skirts), until August 28th. The tops will come next week.

Textiles suisses ... Swiss textiles

 

 

 

Pendant notre séjour en Suisse, je suis allée, comme d'habitude, faire un tour du coté des magasins de tissus. Si la sélection a l'air de rétrécir d'année en année, j'ai quand même trouvé quelques trucs sympas. Le Petit Loup  a complètement flashé sur le tissu avec les moutons, un coton bien épais dans lequel je lui ai fait un pantacourt, et avec le reste, une mini jupe pour la Puce. J'ai aussi trouvé des vaches, ça allait tellement bien avec le cadre, pour faire une petite robe champêtre. En attendant que je sorte mes tissus à vaches à moi, bien sûr...

 

While in Switzerland, I went, as usual, scout for fabrics. Sadly, the selection seems to be shrinking a bit more every year, but I still found a few fun prints. The Petit Loup just loved the fabric with the sheep, a pretty thick cotton in which I cut a pair of cropped pants, and with the rest, I made a mini skirt for la Puce. I also found cows, which looked so good with the scenery, to make a small dress. All this while I come up with my own cow prints...

Marinière fraîcheur ... Fresh boat neck

 

 

 

Celle-ci, de marinière, je l'ai faite pour la Puce, dans un jersey rayé blanc et bleu turquoise, avec une bande de fleurs tout aussi fraîches sur les manches. Un must sur la plage.

J'ai fait ce model pour le Petit Loup il y a un moment déjà, et à chaque fois qu'il le porte, j'ai des commentaires (de parents, de gens qu'on croise...). Il l'ADORE... C'est vrai qu'il est difficile de résister à tous ces petits crabes...

Des amis ont un chien parfait à dessiner, Charly. J'en ai fait un tissu pour les enfants, en trois coloris différents. Le premier projet est terminé, c'est une petite robe pour la Puce, en rose indien. Tissu disponible à ma boutique chez Spoonflower...  

 

 

 

 

Friends of ours have a perfect dog to sketch, Charly. Based on him, I designed a new kid fabric, in three different colors. The first project is done, it's a little Summer dress for la Puce, in Indian pink. The fabric is available at my shop at Spoonflower...

Encore un tissu pour lequel j'ai craqué. J'en ai fait une tunique à attacher dans le dos pour la Puce, mais ai bien l'intention de faire quelque chose pour moi dans ce motif. Pour info, je trouve beaucoup de mes tissus jersey chez BanberryPlace.com, Cory a de bons filons pour trouver de super imprimés.

Once more print I couldn't resist. I made a little wrap top for la Puce, but am planning on making something for myself with this fabric as well. FYI, I find a lot of my knit prints at BanberryPlace.com. Cory, the owner, is great at finding fabulous prints.

 

Mômes ... Kiddos

Pour Noël, j'ai dessiné nos enfants façon chibi pour les appliquer en transfert sur un pull pour my hubby. Le dessin est nettoyé a l'ordi, imprimé sur un papier transfert (je privilégie le papier transfert pour couleurs foncées, les couleurs restent plus nettes), et appliqué sur le pull au fer ou a la table chauffante.

 

For Christmas, I drew our kids, chibi style, to apply on a sweater for my hubby. The design was cleaned up in Photoshop, printed on transfert paper (I prefer the transfert paper for dark colors, for truer colors), and then applied on the shirt either by ironing or heat press.

 

 

Lit de poupée express ... Doll bed express

Petit lit express pour une gentille dragonne à fleurs: la base est un panier de rangement (ici, un panier pliable avec baguettes trouvé chez Daiso pour $1.50). Pour la literie, un carré de polaire toute douce, et un oreiller et une couette coupés dans un joli coton, que des petits doigts agiles seront ravis d'aider a bourrer...

 

Small doll bed express for a lovely girl-dragon: the base is a folding organizing basket (the one here has been found at Daiso for $1.50). For the bedding, a square of soft fleece, and a pillow and comforter, cut in a cute cotton print, which small fingers would be most excited to help stuff...

Dino-socks

J'ai poursuivi mes histoires de chaussettes avec des dragons/dinosaurs... Mes préférés sont ceux fait avec des chaussettes d'Halloween, elles ont des chauves-souris et des chapeaux de sorcières, ça fait encore plus vrai...

 

 

 

 


 I continued my sock stories with dragons/dinosaurs... My favorites are the ones cut in Halloween socks, they have bats and witch's hats, it makes it look all the more real...
 

 

Kimono à lapins ... Bunny kimono

 

 

 

J'ai fait ce petit kimono pour la Puce pour un mariage. Le kimono est coupé dans un coton japonais structuré, le obi et bordure du col sont en fin velours cotelé.


I made this little kimono for la Puce for a wedding. The kimono is cut in a japanese cotton slightly structured, the obi and edge of the collar are made of find ribbed velvet.

 

 

Halloween costumes

Première sortie pour les nouveaux costumes: le petit Loup a choisit d'être un kylosaur, et la Puce, une girafe. Costumes fait tout en polaire sur la base d'un patron de Simplicity, mais fortement modifié...

 

 

 

First outing for the new costumes: le petit Loup chose to be a kylosaur, and la Puce, a giraffe. Costumes all cut in fleece, on the basis of a Simplicity pattern but with lots of adjustments...
